Just for fun, and because technical discussions and analysis of the situation are simply unable to capture the depth, richness and mystery of the relationship between us, as humans, and the substance we know as water, we have included here a series of images.

They start with the dry technical graphics that have been so long the stock-in trade of water technicians, but these are followed by a collection of exceptional photographs and paintings.

Then there are a number of maps that, though perhaps on a lower aesthetic plane, do convey a great deal of interesting information. Finally there are selections of water-related poetry, prose and sculpture.
