In general, we have tried
to avoid the use of highly specific technical terminology.
Most of the words employed, like 'surface water' and 'groundwater',
are either self-explanatory, or so commonplace that explanations
are not really required.
An excellent glossary
of water terminology is published by
the Portland, Oregon, office of the US Geological Survey.
Gregg Eckhardt's
web site on the Edwards Aquifer in Texas also has
an excellent glossary attached.
