In this section we could very easily had
presented a list of 300 references, or directed you to more
than 30 websites, so brimming with facts and figures that
they would have made your head spin. Instead, because our
goal is to develop a site which does not simply add more clutter
to the World Wide Web, we have tried to select, and
summarize, a few good books and
several excellent magazine articles.
There have also been a few interesting newspaper
articles, though these are more notable for the distortion
they bring to the facts than any light they may shed on the
situation.
Links are then given to a (small) number of important websites,
where you can find the voluminous and detailed facts and figures,
if you want them.
Finally, there is a glossary of the words
and concepts that call for definition. Here is also a table
of conversion factors, because although there are
only two nations in the world* that have not yet officially
switched to the metric system, one of them remains very influential
on water technology worldwide!
* Burma and the United States
